Rachel Reyes is a seasoned political and community organizer. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Rachel is a sixth generation Angeleno and proud Dodgers fan. In 2022, Rachel joined Meteorite, bringing her experience in labor and worker advocacy to the company’s health teams. Rachel has a background in the nonprofit sector, most recently working during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with grocery and retail workers. Her work during this time ensured that essential workers were guaranteed higher pay, direct access to protections, and stronger contracts overall.
Rachel’s passion for labor comes in part from her longtime retail work, managing businesses in both England and the US, from small boutiques to multimillion dollar flagship stores. Rachel began her career in museum education, working for the Natural History Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the National Gallery in London. When she’s not working, you can find Rachel in the field for local electoral campaigns. Her dedication to local politics has improved the lives of working people across Los Angeles, from passing policies like Fair Workweek to electing City Councilmember Nithya Raman. She is also a freelance writer and podcaster. Rachel is a two-time Getty Scholar and holds a B.A. in Art History and Ethnic Studies from Mills College.
